The Musical.  It is scheduled for 4.00 pm and it would be great if you could join and interact with others as we use this relatively new Facebook feature.<br \/>\nIf you are unable to join then please watch at some other time during this Easter season.  I really hope you enjoy it and will be blessed.<br \/>\nToday is Maundy Thursday but why Maundy?  Wikipedia says:<br \/>\nMaundy is the name of the Christian rite of footwashing, which traditionally occurs during Maundy Thursday church services. Most scholars agree that the English word maundy  is derived through Middle English and Old French mand\u00e9, from the Latin mandatum (also the origin of the English word \u201cmandate\u201d), the first word of the phrase \u201cMandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos\u201d (\u201cA new commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.\u201d) This statement by Jesus is from the Gospel of John 13:34 by which Jesus explained to the Apostles the significance of his action of washing their feet.<br \/>\nOthers theorize that the English name \u201cMaundy Thursday\u201d arose from \u201cmaundsor baskets\u201d or \u201cmaundy purses\u201d of alms which the King of England distributed to certain poor at Whitehall before attending Mass on that day. Thus, \u201cmaund\u201d is connected to the Latin mendicare, and French mendier, to beg.
