{"id":2357,"date":"2021-07-22T17:36:31","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T17:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.risen.org.uk\/?p=2357"},"modified":"2021-07-22T17:36:31","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T17:36:31","slug":"blog-july-22nd-somewhere-over-the-rainbow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/risen.org.uk\/?p=2357","title":{"rendered":"Blog July 22nd \u201cSomewhere Over The Rainbow\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mum of five WOWS with voice from a DIFFERENT ERA! | Audition | BGT Series 9\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/01UJMWJqCVc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Having a break today from \u201cTheophilus The Musical\u201d songs as I watched something the other day which I want to share.<br \/>\n\u201cSomewhere Over The Rainbow\u201d is such a fantastic song, first sung all the way back in 1939 by Judy Garland in the musical \u201cWizard of Oz.\u201d As you can see from this link Judy sings it beautifully and is great example of good music being timeless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oW2QZ7KuaxA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oW2QZ7KuaxA<\/a> but in my humble opinion Eva Cassidy\u2019s version takes it to a completely different level <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2rd8VktT8xY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2rd8VktT8xY<\/a><br \/>\nIt was a similar rendition to Eva\u2019s that Lucy Maynard sang at her Crofton School \u201cleaving do\u201d just before she left to live in Cambridge \u2013 it was spell binding and was, in part the inspiration of \u201cStill in Tears\u201d which I made up the next day while driving some pupils in a minibus to Alton Towers.
