{"id":2600,"date":"2022-03-31T15:55:47","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T15:55:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/risen.org.uk\/?p=2600"},"modified":"2022-03-31T16:01:50","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T16:01:50","slug":"blog-march-23rd-moments-of-sunshine-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/risen.org.uk\/?p=2600","title":{"rendered":"Blog March 30th \u201cMoments of Sunshine \u2013 Part Two\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Celinde Schoenmaker duets with busker Stephen Barry in Covent Garden London 10 Nov 2016\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hxm5pJsgKVo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So here is the second part of my series of \u201cMoments of Sunshine\u201d to hopefully help lighten up our often dark and troubled world.<br \/>\nMy brother Jack, whose lovely wife Eileen happens to be 90 years old this weekend- congratulations to her and looking forward to travelling to Hucknall this weekend for a small family reunion \u2013 sent me today\u2019s featured video.<br \/>\nAt first, I was convinced it was a scam \u2013 a set up with two West End singers taking part \u2013 one dressed up as a busker to create the \u201cillusion.\u201d  I had seen similar \u201cspoofs\u201d one in which Christiano Ronaldo dresses up as a homeless person to take on people at football in the street.<br \/>\nHowever what Jack sent me was authentic and here is the story:<br \/>\nSteve Barry was singing songs from the musicals in London&#8217;s Covent Garden when he was approached by a woman to sing a duet.<br \/>\nThe song she wanted to perform was &#8216;All I Ask Of You&#8217; from Phantom of the Opera.  Weary from randomers looking to perform with him, Steve was inclined to say no, when she suddenly volunteered some surprising information.<br \/>\nSteve explains &#8216;Busking in Covent Garden one evening, when a lady (who was pretty easy on the eye to be fair) in the audience asked me to sing &#8216;All I Ask of You&#8217;.<br \/>\n&#8216;I had just sung a number from Phantom of the Opera.<br \/>\n&#8216;With my most withering, scathing tone I informed her I can&#8217;t be doing two Phantom songs in a row (like duh).
